We’re opening a Horde guild on a PvE realm when Forever launches on November 4. We are keeping the same name, the same discord, and will be extending the same inclusive community you’ve come to know and love, but in a completely different Azeroth.
If you’ve been with us on Area 52, nothing changes there. Our raid teams are still raiding, keys are still going out every night, and the Discord isn’t changing. The guild on Warcraft Forever is an addition, not a move. If you’re new to Autonomous and Forever is the reason you’re coming back to WoW, even better. This is the easiest time to join a guild that we’ve had in years, because on day one, everybody is new.
What Forever Actually Is
Quick primer, because there’s been some confusion about this.
Forever is not a Classic remake, and it’s not a stepping stone into retail. The developers have called it a third pillar of World of Warcraft, sitting alongside the Classic versions and the modern game as its own separate thing. It takes the feel of vanilla: simple classes, methodical combat, a long leveling journey, and builds new content on top of it. New zones. Nine new dungeons. Over a thousand new quests. A new race has been added, the Skyborne, who start on Zephras Isle and have the ability to pick a faction at character creation.
The design pillars Blizzard keeps repeating are journey before destination, protect and nurture social experiences, and world as the main character. Classes are meant to be easy to pick up, rotations aren’t meant to be a second job, and you’re not supposed to need add-ons to play your spec correctly.
If that sounds like a game built for guilds, that’s because it is.

Why We’re Creating a Guild on World of Warcraft Forever
Forever is designed around the exact thing we built Autonomous around: knowing the people you play with.
There’s no automated dungeon finder that matches you with four strangers and teleports you to a boss. There’s a listing tool where you post a group and fill it yourself. Raids are fixed sizes, not flex, so you need an actual roster and you need to know who’s showing up next week. There’s one difficulty for dungeons and raids, so an encounter is just the encounter. And GDKP is banned outright, because Blizzard has been clear that it doesn’t want gold to quietly replace guild organization.
We could complain about the friction. We’d rather say the quiet part out loud: Forever is a game that requires a guild, and we happen to have a really good one.
Horde, PvE, and Why That’s a Real Choice
Our primary Forever guild will be Horde, on a PvE realm.
That matters more here than it does in retail. Horde and Alliance can’t group together in Forever. No cross-faction dungeons, no cross-faction raids. The faction you pick is the faction you play with, full stop. So we’re planting the flag now and saying it plainly: Autonomous on Forever is Horde. Pick red.
If you roll one of the new Skyborne, the Horde-aligned Windshapers get access to Shaman. We are not going to pretend that didn’t factor in.
Forever handles realms by ruleset instead of the sprawling realm list retail has, so this isn’t the usual “which of forty servers are we on” conversation. PvE is the ruleset. Anything else we need to confirm will go in Discord and on this page.
What We’re Doing at Launch
Launch is November 4. The first new raids don’t open until December 9.
That gap is not dead time. That’s the whole point of Forever.
November 4 to December 9: Leveling, dungeons, professions, and gearing. There are nine new dungeons running from the low teens all the way to 60, including places the community has been asking about for twenty years. We’ll have guild groups going most nights.
Here’s how that works: organized, but zero pressure. If you want a group, there’ll be one. Hop on discord, check what groups are running, and join them. If you’d rather take three weeks to level a character while reading every quest, do that. Nobody is going to hound you about your played time. We’re not running an attendance spreadsheet on a leveling zone.
December 9 onward: Raids. The announced lineup includes Barrow Deeps at 10 players and Hyjal Summit at 20, and Blizzard has said every raid tier will have both a 10 and a 20 option.
We haven’t locked in which one we’re building toward yet, and we’re not going to fake it. Blizzard’s stated design path is dungeon groups growing into 10-player teams and then into 20-player teams, and honestly, that’s how we’d do it anyway. We’ll see what the roster looks like in November and build to fit the people who actually showed up, not to fit a number we announced in September.
Who We’re Looking For
Everybody. Sincerely.
Vanilla veterans who have Molten Core muscle memory. Retail players who have never touched Classic. People who quit in Wrath and have been waiting for a reason. People who have literally never played World of Warcraft, because Forever’s slow onboarding was built for exactly that person.
Tanks and healers get a hug on arrival, as always. But Forever is a genuinely good moment to try a role you’ve never played, because everyone has a clean slate and no one is 40 item levels ahead of you.
The only thing we actually screen for is the same thing we’ve always screened for, personality and whether you’ll be a good fit for our community. Show up, be decent to people, and don’t make raid night worse for the person next to you.
Logistics
- Discord: Same one. We’ve adding WoW Forever channels for groups, class chat, and realm news.
- Raid nights: Not set yet. We’ll pick them with the founding group once we know what people’s schedules look like. We’d rather build a schedule around a roster than recruit a roster to fit a schedule.
- Add-ons: Forever is being built so you don’t need them. Bring them if you want. You won’t be required to.
- Realm: Forever organizes realms by ruleset rather than running a long list of them the way retail does, so picking PvE is the choice that matters. That’s where we’ll be. We’ll confirm the rest in Discord.
Come Build It With Us
We’re at the best part of a guild’s life right now: the part before it exists. No roster politics, no established cliques, no seat you have to earn from someone who’s had it for six months. Just a launch date and a list of people who want to be there for it.
If you want in on the ground floor of a Horde PvE guild in Forever, join the Discord and say hello in the Forever channel. Tell us what you’re thinking of rolling and whether you’d rather tank, heal, or press buttons and vibe.
See you on November 4th.
