  3. Introducing Our New Mythic+ Team, Open to Every Autonomous Member

We run keys almost every night of the week in Autonomous, and up to now that has all happened in Discord, in whatever group came together first. Season 2 is when that changes. We’re excited to announce a community wide Mythic+ team that anybody in the guild can join.

A Mythic+ Team With No Gate To Get In

Let’s get the important part out of the way first. There is no IO requirement to join this team. If you’re in Autonomous, you’re in.

We say a lot that there are no team silos here, and this is us putting that into practice on the keys side. Most M+ teams you’ll find are built around a score floor, which is a fine way to run things if your only goal is pushing. It also means the players who would benefit most from running with experienced people are the exact players who can’t get in the door. We didn’t want to build that.

Team Schedule

Monday and Friday, 7:30pm to 10:00pm EST.

Our first night is Friday, August 21, and that’s vault groups only. Push groups join the rotation three weeks later on September 8.

Two Ways To Play Each Night

Every evening you’ll sign up for one of two options: vault completion or key pushing. Those two are not equally open, and we want to be upfront about that. Vault completion is available to everybody on the team, every week of the season. Key pushing has a minimum requirement to get into, and not everybody will meet it, at least not right away.

That’s on purpose. Grouping somebody into a 15 when they’ve never timed a 12 isn’t doing them a favor, it’s just a bricked key and a bad night for five people. The requirement is there so that when you do sign up for push, you’re going in with a group that’s actually ready for it.

It’s also a threshold, not a wall. Anybody can get there, the vault nights are where you get there, and once you’re in you can sign up for either option night to night depending on what you’re after that evening.

Vault Completion

The focus here is finishing as many keys as possible each night to fill out our vaults. That means running depleted keys, and it means everybody in the group is doing a key level they are comfortable with. Nobody is getting dragged into something over their head.

Vault groups run from our very first night on August 21. For the first 3 weeks of the season this is the only option, as everybody starts to gear up and work through all of the dungeons in the pool.

Key Pushing

Push groups start September 8, which is week 4 of the season. This has a minimum requirement of completing all dungeons at key level 10, and the focus is pushing keys to higher levels to raise your resilient level and your IO score. Abandoning keys that are bricked will be common here. Filling your vault isn’t the goal, though it happens naturally as you time keys anyway.

Once you reach that threshold there’s a very informal application, just a quick chat with a lead or assist to make sure you’re on the same page as the rest of the team.

How We Build Groups Each Night

On vault nights we balance every group across the whole team rather than letting the first five people in the channel run off together. We look at composition, so bloodlust, CC and utility, and a battle rez. We look at IO spread and pair higher with lower so no single group is carrying the night. And especially in the early weeks we armor stack where we can, because trading a piece to somebody who needs it is free progress for the guild.

Push nights work the same way except we group you with players at a similar IO score and skill level. So if you’re comfortable at 15s, you won’t spend your night stuck in 12s. And if you’re still working on 12s, you won’t get dropped into a 15 you aren’t ready for. There will be one high key group, one low key group, and as many in between as we have sign ups for. When attendance forces somebody to group below their level, they get priority on grouping up the next evening.

What We Ask Of You

The attendance requirement is 2 out of 6 events in a given 3 week period. That accounts for people who can only make one of the two days, and it still lets them miss a week out of three. We’re hoping this balances out the numbers across both nights for the whole season, and we may adjust it once we see how the early weeks go.

Push members have one extra requirement: 1 vault evening in a 3 week period. This rule is super important to us. It’s there so the vault groups don’t dwindle while our best players go off and do their own thing, and so players still grinding toward that all 10 threshold aren’t left behind.

Beyond the schedule, here’s what we expect from everybody on the team:

  • Appropriate item level for the point in the season and the key level you’re running.
  • Study your dungeons. Boss and trash mechanics both, plus general routing knowledge.
  • Mastery of your class. M+ tests everybody in the party to use all of their utility, and it gets more necessary the higher you push.
  • A positive attitude. Be receptive to criticism. No toxicity.
  • Respect your team’s time, and your own. Come prepared to focus, always be looking for ways to improve your own play, and help your teammates improve theirs.

Key Dates and How To Sign Up

  • August 21 is our first night. Vault groups only, open to everybody, no application needed.
  • September 1 is when push sign ups open.
  • September 8 is when push groups start running, which is week 4 of the season.

If you’re joining for vault nights, you don’t have to wait on any of those later dates. Just fill out the interest form and show up on the 21st.

If you have questions before then, ping @Bin or @Bear in Discord. You can also check our teams page to see everything else running in the guild, or the calendar for every raid night and community event in one place.

Whether you’re chasing a title or you’ve never timed a 10, there’s a spot for you on this team. See you August 21.
